Diamond Senators Wallop Five HRs In 11-0 Rout
MORRISTOWN, Tennessee – The Walters State baseball team continued its slugging ways Monday afternoon, belting five homers in collecting an 11-0 win over Tusculum College’s junior varsity squad in seven innings at Senator Field.
With the victory, the Senators pushed their season worksheet to 27-5.
Freshman Jesse Wierzbicki smacked two homers in the game, the second time he’s done that in the last four games. Sophomore Adam Milligan and freshmen Kyle Koeneman and Alex McClure also connected for Walters State. On the season, the Senators have now smashed 67 homers.
Wierzbicki added a double to go along with his two round-trippers while Milligan chipped in a double and a single to go with his longball. Koeneman and McClure each chipped in a double to go with their homers while freshman Chad Hunter singled twice and stole two bases, giving him 20 on the season.
Sophomore Jack Snodgrass (3-0) worked six innings to record the mound decision. The 6-foot-6 lefthander gave up three hits while striking out six and walking four. Fellow sophomore Ben Walker gave up one hit and struck out one in his one inning of work.
