Golf Team Finishes 17th in NJCAA

GOODYEAR, Az. — The Walters State golf team carded a final-round score of 305 during the NJCAA Division II championship at the Palm Valley Golf Course.

 

The Senators’ four-round total stands at 1251, which placed them in 17th place. Tyler (Tx.) won the team event with a score of 1172. Darton (Ga.) College was second with a score of 1175 while Mesa (Az.) was third at 1185.

 

The Senators’ Luke Fullen fired a final round 69 to total a score of 299 (72-83-75-69) and finish in a tie for 16th place. Bowen Newgent tied for 90th at 318 (77-82-77-82), Jeremy Cason tied for 94th at 321 (74-77-86-84), Corbin Norton tied for 97th at 325 (76-82-92-76) while Josh Jeffers is tied for 105th at 328 (79-86-85-78).

 

Marc Price from Tyler won the individual crown with a four-day total of 289 (70-73-72-74).
