High school seniors and their parents are invited to financial aid workshops planned for 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, at West Greene High School and 6 p.m. on Oct. 29 at Chucky-Doak High School. One is also planned for 6: 30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Washburn High School.
The workshop will be hosted by Walters State’s Financial Aid Office. Students planning to attend other colleges are also encouraged to attend since much of the information will apply to any college. Door prizes will be given away and one attending senior will win a $500 grant to Walters State.
The workshop will cover the types of financial aid available and the financial aid application process. Those attending will learn about the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Tennessee Hope (lottery) Scholarship, state grants, loans and scholarships.
