Allen and Hamilton are co-recipients of Presidentís Outstanding Student Award
Newportís Dorothy Allen and Christopher R. Hamilton of Talbott are co-recipients of the Presidentís Outstanding Student Award.
Allen is a pre-med major. She served as secretary of Phi Theta Kappa, a group she represented as a Homecoming Queen candidate. She also served as SGA speaker pro tem, president of the Student Orientation Assistants, vice president of the Science Club and a member of the Senators Pages. Allen donated her time as a coach of an elementary school volleyball team, which she started last year. She also volunteers in numerous other community activities. Allen is now a student at the University of Tennessee,
Christopher Hamilton is studying to become an engineer. He served as a Senators Page and Student Government Association representative for Phi Theta Kappa. He was also named to the Presidentís List on multiple occasions. After graduation from Walters State, Hamilton transferred to Tennessee Technological University.
