Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Walters State Community College, the Walters State Center for Workforce Development and the Smoky Mountains Area Workforce Development Board (LWIA 2) is receiving a substantial investment from the federal government to create and save jobs, and aid individuals affected by the recession. Many of these investments are providing services through the Tennessee Career Centers and related Youth Services.
