Faculty, staff, students and families are all invited to join Walters State for an afternoon
of international entertainment at the Cirque de Chine performance on Saturday, Nov. 7, at
the Smoky Mountain Palace in Sevierville. The show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets for students are
free, while tickets for others are greatly discounted.
Cirque de Chine is an amazing fusion of music, movement, color and costumes. The performance
is a wonderful celebration of Chinese culture and centers around acrobatics with 50 talented
performers. Twelve performers have won gold medals at various events. The show is two hours
long.
The show also features Jung Jo Drums and flying motorcycles.
Students may pick up one free ticket and may purchase tickets for family members for a
discounted rate of $10 at business offices on all four campus locations. Faculty and
staff members may purchase tickets at the discounted rate of $10. Children under the
age of five are free, but must also have a ticket from the business office.
Bus transportation will be available from the Morristown campus. Only students will be
allowed to ride the bus. Space is limited and reservations must be made through Eileen
Bowers at Eileen.Bowers@ws.edu. The bus will leave from the parking lot of the R. Jack
Fishman Library at noon and return at approximately 6:30 p.m.
For families, Sevier County Winterfest will be underway and the drive is a wonderful
chance to enjoy the lights.
Tickets may be purchased at the business office in Morristown Monday-Friday from
8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (If you cannot make it during this time, please call (423) 585-2616
for special arrangements) The hours at the Greeneville/Greene County Center are 8-4:30
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. At the Sevier
County Campus, hours are 8 a.m.-6:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
on Friday. At the Claiborne County Center, hours are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through
Thursday and 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on Friday.
The International Education Fee Oversight Committee will be paying for the tickets for
students.
