Walters State Community Band Concert is April 22

Walters State Community Band invites you to enjoy its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium on the Morristown Campus. Admission is free. 
The band includes over 70 musicians. Many are college students, while others are band enthusiasts. The band also includes several local band directors and outstanding high school students. Tom Shupe and Greg Woodruff serve as conductors.
This year’s concert includes Chaminade’s “Concertino” featuring Tyler Shropshire as a flute soloist. Other highlights include a Spears’ “At a Dixieland Jazz Funeral” with soloists Jimmie Harris, Dan Jones, Bailey Stratton, Matt Byrd and Pete Rogers. 
The band will also perform Williams’ “Star Wars Epic Part II,” which includes “Imperial March,” “Princess Leia’s Theme” and “Star Wars” 
The concert also includes Dello Joio’s “Satiric Dances” and will conclude with Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera.”
