Health Care Classes For Spring, Summer

Morristown

Phlebotomy Technician
A 10-week program that prepares professionals to collect blood specimens for laboratory analysis. Students become familiar with blood collection and develop skills to perform venipunctures safely. Classes meet April 17— June 27 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-9 p.m. The cost is $1,099. (An optional Phlebotomy Technician Externship is available for those completing the Phlebotomy Technician program. The cost for the externship is $350.

Certified Nurse Assistant
This is the state-approved nurse aide training class for individuals desiring to become licensed as C.N.A.'s in Tennessee. The nurse aide is trained to work under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Nurse aides are primarily employed at nursing homes, but also work at hospitals or home health agencies. Classes meet May 30 — Aug. 17 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-9 p.m. The cost is $799.

Electrocardiogram Technician
Students receive instruction in the anatomy and physiology and doncuction system of the heart, medical terminology and ECG strip analysis. Instruction also will include ECG/EKG unit operation, interpretation and troubleshooting and lead placement. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the NHA EKG Technician (CET) national exam. Classes meet April 24 — June 5 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The cost is $549.

Greeneville

Registered Dental Assistant
This 120-hour course focuses on dentistry and areas of radiology in the dental office. Students will be required to provide verification and documentation of 30 hours of observation at a dental office. After completing the course students must register as a Dental Assistant with the Tennessee Board of Dentistry. They must complete a background check, obtain a CPR certification (BLS for Health Care Providers) and pay fees required by the Tennessee Board of Dentistry. Classes meet April 25 — Sept. 12 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-9 pm. The cost is $1,259.

Sneedville

This class is taught at Hancock Manor.
