Come Celebrate with the Community Band
November 28, 2017

The Walters State Community Concert Band will present its annual Christmas Concert at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 in the “Z” Buda Assembly Hall and Gymnasium, located on the college’s Morristown Campus. The concert is free and open to everyone.

The concert is directed by Tom Shupe and Greg Woodruff. The band is comprised of 67 members from Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hawkins and Jefferson counties. Some are college students taking the class for credit. Other members simply enjoy being part of a band and continuing to play favorite instruments.

Many local music teachers and band directors are also a part of this group.

Planned music includes Rossini’s “William Tell Overture” and Sousa’s arrangement of the “Star Spangled Banner.” Holiday selections include “Celtic Carol” and “Sleigh Ride.”

Reservations or tickets are not required. For more information, contact the Division of Humanities at 423-585-6824 during the hours of 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.
