Auditions Planned for "Sherlock Holmes"
August 26, 2021

Grab your cap and cape! Walters State’s Department of Music and Theatre is holding auditions for “The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes.”
Auditions will be held on the Morristown Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex. Auditions will also be held on the Sevier County Campus at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 in room 142 of the Connor-Short Center. The play is written by Jon Jory and this performance is directed by T.J. Kent, assistant professor of theatre.
Community members are invited to audition; the audition is not limited to students.
This play features four separate stories starring the famed detective and his sidekick Watson. Each story will have a different cast which will rehearse together. The four groups will come together for performances Nov. 18-21.
“The play is written gender blind, so both women and men can play any role, even Sherlock or Watson,” Kent said.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. If needed, callbacks will be held on Sept. 15 on the Morristown Campus.
