Walters State Recognizes Outstanding Students
May 15, 2018

H. Michael Shultz, a history major from Morristown, was named the President’s Outstanding Student during the 2018 Honors Night ceremonies at Walters State Community College. The award is the highest given to a student. Shultz has been named to the All-USA Academic Team and has been named a New Century Transfer Scholar. Shultz has been active in several campus organizations and service projects.
Samantha Cortner of Greeneville was named the outstanding student on the Walters State Greeneville/Greene County Campus. Sherri D. Hoskins of Harrogate was named the outstanding student on the Walters State Claiborne County Campus. Amanda J. Lucey and Kenzie M. Wells were named the outstanding student on the Walters State Sevier County Campus. 
Nicholas E. Stephan of Morristown received the Faculty Council Scholarship. John Wagner of Tazewell was honored for his service as the regional president of PTK, the honor society for community college students. Elijah Code was honored as SGA president and Kristie L. Wise was honored as the Senators Pages president. Both are from Morristown.
Dual Enrollment Scholars were also recognized. Rachel A. Eccles of Jefferson City and Sarah N. Hopkins of Sneedville completed associate degrees while still completing high school graduation requirements.
