Archery Camps Planned in Morristown, Sevierville
July 5, 2018

Walters State’s popular “Archery: On Target For Life” course will be offered in July at both the Morristown and the Sevier County Campus. Initiated by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, the Archery Camps introduce students to a sport that can be a lifelong passion. The camps are also a good opportunity for students who currently practice archery to pick up new skills.
The camp will be offered July 16-18 from 9 a.m.-noon on the Morristown Campus and from July 31-Aug. 2 from 9 a.m.-noon on the Sevier County Campus.
The class is designed for students in the fifth through eighth grades and focuses on form, technique and skills required in archery. The program is adopted from the National Field Archery Associations.
Archery is growing as a sport in Tennessee with 3,000 students participating in this year’s state tournament.
“Archery helps students develop mental concentration, core strengthening, physical fitness and self-confidence,” said Dr. Nicole Cardwell-Hampton, coordinator for youth programs.
The cost is $99. All equipment is provided. For more information, contact Cardwell-Hampton at 423-585-6756 or Registration is available at
