Welding, Excel and More on Noncredit Schedule

GREENEVILLE
Walters State Workforce Training Building
•Commercial Driver License (CDL) Test Preparation Oct. 2-30 (Tuesdays), 5:30-8:30 p.m.
This class prepares students to take the CDL written test administered at any Tennessee driver’s license testing facility. This class covers different CDL classifications, transporting cargo and passengers, air brakes, combination vehicles, hazardous materials, school bus and other topics. The class is $199.
•TOSHA 10-Hour Safety Training – Oct. 9-10, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
This general industry certification allows students to increase their value as entry-level workers by demonstrating knowledge of how to prevent safety and health hazards in the general industry workplace. The cost is $199.
•Welding Level 2 MIG – Oct. 9-23 (Tuesday/Thursday) 5-9 p.m. 
This course introduces students to shop practices, equipment, materials and skills related to gas metal arc (MIG) welding. This course uses a hands-on approach designed to emphasize focus and practice on welding and safety. Basic concepts of spray welding are covered. The fee is $274.
•Microsoft Excel Level 1 – Oct. 23, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Excel 2016. Create, save and print documents. Explore formatting tips. Create formulas and enter functions. This class is $150.  
•Flags and Signals – Oct. 25, 5-9 p.m.
Learn how to be an effective flagger and how to improve your own safety and the safety of your coworkers, motorists and pedestrians. The fee is $59. 

MORRISTOWN CAMPUS

•Supervisor’s Toolkit – Oct. 4, 11 and 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
This class covers leading people, acknowledging and working with differences in the workplace, leader effectiveness, optimizing contributions, personal and interpersonal effectiveness and eliminating conflict. The cost is $349.
•Microsoft Excel Level 1 – Oct. 16, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel or Excel 2016. Create, save and print documents. Explore formatting tips. Create formulas and enter functions. This class is $150.  
•Basic Safety for Utilities – Oct. 17, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This course reviews the most-cited standards in utilities, gas, confined spaces, lock out/tag out, trenching and evacuation.  The cost is $129 per person. 

MORRISTOWN PUBLIC SAFETY CAMPUS
•Tactical Combat Casualty Care – Oct. 8-12, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
This weeklong course uses the National Association of Emergency Medical Technician course to prepare offices, medics, paramedics and fire safety personal to deal with combat injuries and casualty care while in active situations. This teaches first responders to react and treat the casualty, prevent additional casualties, and complete the mission. The cost is $250.

SEVIER COUNTY
•Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce
Essentials Skills of Communicating – Oct. 16, 12:30-4:30 p.m. 
Learn to communicate effectively and precisely. The cost of the course is $200.
