Parenting and Divorce Class Offered Online

Walters State’s Parenting and Divorce class will be offered online June 18 through the Zoom video-conference platform. This class meets the Tennessee court requirements that divorcing couples complete a parenting course.  
This instructor-led course covers skills that will enable couples to continue co-parenting after a divorce, making less traumatic for children. 
The cost is $50 and course is June 18 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. To reserve a spot, contact Kellie Hendrix at Kellie.Hendrix@ws.edu or 423-798-7988.
Two other noncredit classes are planned in June. Space is limited for these two classes:

•Microsoft Excel Level 1 covers the basics of this popular spreadsheet software, including how to create documents, manipulate page layouts and format. Compare Microsoft Excel 16 to older levels of Excel. The cost is $150. The class meets 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 16 on the college’s Sevier County Campus.  

•OSHA 10-Hour Safety Course is for construction workers and others covered by OSHA 29 CRF 1926. Students receive an introduction to OSHA, the focus four hazards, personal protective and lifesaving equipment, health hazards in construction, excavations, scaffolds, stairs and ladders, and the use of power and hand tools. The cost is $199 and the class meets 9 a.m.-3 p.m. June 17-18 at the Walters State Workforce Training Building in Greeneville.
