Learn a New Skill or Train for a New Career Online
September 17, 2020

Walters State Community College, in cooperation with Ed2Go, offers more than 100 classes online for personal and career development. The length of time and the cost of the course varies based on the length and value of the course.
“With these courses, you can add a new skill or even train for a career change without leaving your home,” said Dr. Nicole Cardwell-Hampton, coordinator for the Division of Workforce Training. The Division oversees noncredit courses offered by the college.
“These classes are also flexible. You can take them when you wake up on the morning or at night after the kids are asleep. Most classes also allow you to pace yourself. So, you get the benefits of an online class with professor ready to help.”
Popular personal development courses include Speed Spanish, Microsoft Office, sign language, a grammar refresher and an SAT/ACT prep class. Career training programs include training for jobs in construction, legal services (including court reporter), and computer science.
The classes do not award college credit, but many lead to accreditation or certification in a given field. You may also start the classes at any time. The college’s semester system does not include noncredit classes.
