The term diversity is often defined in connection with racial/ethnic minorities and women; but, at WSCC, it also includes other underrepresented populations and those students and faculty with disability related issues. The office promotes diversity on campus with activities and programs that will build self- confidence in a student's ability to achieve in a very demanding society that is made up of individuals of different backgrounds from their own. The office is responsible for access and diversity planning as it relates to diversity scholarships. The office honors peoples' identities and supports them in achieving their aspirations.
