Mollie OwensMollie Owens
SGA President

I am a sophomore at Walters State. I am majoring in mathematics. I love helping others, which is why I have chosen the field of math. I want to teach math at the high school level and help students who struggle with the subject. I currently tutor middle school and high school students.  I will be transferring to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. I am a Senators Page on campus and I am also a member of the Honors Program. I love being involved with the activities taking place on campus. Last year, I served as SGA freshman representative. I loved being a part of Student Government! I am serving as president of SGA for this academic year. I look forward to working with all of the students!

Andrew HodgeAndrew Hodge
SGA Vice President

I am a pre-health major and I am currently pursuing a degree in animal science. I plan on transferring to UT-Knoxville to finish my degree and later attend Veterinary School. I live in Blaine and I am a graduate of Grainger High School. Some of my hobbies include watching Tennessee football, hanging with friends, and playing any kind of sports. I attend Blue Spring Baptist Church in Rutledge. I do several extracurricular activities. I am a Senators Page here at Walters State, I am a Yoke Folk at Rutledge Middle School and I am an assistant youth director at my church. I look forward to helping the students in any way possible.

Ryan LawsonRyan Lawson
SGA Secretary/Treasurer

I look forward to serving as the secretary/treasurer of the Student Government Association this year. I want to make the time spent at Walters State the most fulfilling for all students and to be the true voice of the student body. I am a sophomore majoring in computer science. I plan to transfer to East Tennessee State University and obtain my master’s degree. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and IEEE.

Tanner JonesTanner Jones
SGA Sophomore Representative

I became involved with the Student Government Association to provide a voice for students. I hope I can make it easier for students to connect to each other through campus activities. I am from Rutledge. I am a psychology major and I plan on going to graduate school and becoming a school counselor at a high school or college. I am also a Senators Page and a member of Phi Theta Kappa at Walters State.

Darren Sachara
SGA Sevier County Campus Representative

I am what is called a “nontraditional student.” I came to college a little later than most of you. I drove a truck for many years and enjoyed seeing much of the country and meeting so many people. I came to Walters State to get the skills needed to manage and perhaps open my own restaurant. The program here has an excellent reputation an I am enjoying my classes. I ran for an SGA office to help other students and make the college an even better place. I enjoy working with the younger students and they seem to respect my input based on my experience. Everyone at Walters State treats you like family. If anyone has any problems or issues, please seek someone out and talk about your problem. People really care and will find a way to help.

SGA Greeneville/Greene County Campus Representative

I want every student to know that I am here to represent the interest of students. I am willing to give of my own time to help anyone out. I want to be the voice of the student body. I intend to major in business and transfer to the University of Tennessee. My SGA duties include assisting the administration and assisting the dean of Walters State Greeneville Campus with community activities. When not involved in my studies and my SGA opportunities, I enjoy attending sporting events, hunting and fishing and hanging out with friends.
