My name is Kaylee Lindgren and I will be serving as your 2016-2017 Student Government Association President. I am majoring in special education and plan to transfer to Carson Newman University of pursue a bachelor’s degree. In addition to being the SGA president, I am the Phi Theta Kappa secretary and a Senators Page. I look forward to serving our college in this position.
My name is Hannah Brooks and I am a sophomore majoring in English. I am so excited to be serving as Student Government Association vice president. I hope that we can collectively make the school a better environment for students, faculty, and staff. I will be transferring to East Tennessee State University in fall 2017 to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Some of my hobbies include performing in plays, singing in the shower and eating lots of unhealthy foods. I am also currently a second year Senators Page and am in the process of becoming a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I look forward to being a part of SGA and helping make a difference in the college.
My name is Megan Wesemann and I am the SGA secretary/treasurer. I am a pre-engineering major and pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering. I am the vice president of scholarships for Alpha Beta Iota Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, president of the Word Up Club, student representative on the Academic Affairs Committee, member of the Science Club, Social Sciences Club and International Club. I am currently employed as a paid intern with the Tennessee Valley Authority and also at Pizza Plus. I plan to transfer in the fall of 2017 to a four-year university. I thrive by being involved on campus and strive to connect the different clubs with academia. I look forward to being helpful to faculty, staff, and students.
My name is Parker Moore and I am the Student Government Association sophomore representative. My major is pre-engineering at Walters State and I plan to transfer to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to pursue a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. I am originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. I graduated from Jefferson County High School and currently reside in Talbott. My hobbies include hiking, spending time with my family and various extracurricular activities on campus. I wish to increase student involvement in extracurricular activities and look forward to serving the student body.
My name is Elijah Cody and I am the SGA freshman representative. I hope to be available and helpful to any student who might need their voice heard at Walters State. I’m a freshman from the little town of Mohawk. My major is psychology. I am involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) and would encourage anyone interested to come check it out. We have food at the BCM every Wednesday around lunchtime. My future plans are wide-open to some degree, but my short term plan is to go back to Africa as a short term missionary to the children of Uganda. After graduation from Walters State, I hope to complete my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at UT. Long term, I want to be a counselor to children. I’m not sure where that will take me – maybe on a church staff, somewhere in a mission field or simply in an office where I can offer help to children who are going through emotional or physical pain. I love Tennessee Vol football and sports in general. I love traveling, supporting America’s armed forces, hanging with friends and meeting new people.
My name is Jennifer Bowling and I am the SGA Representative for the Claiborne Campus. I enjoy singing and sing in my church choir. I am recently married and my husband and I purchased our first home during the summer. I look forward to serving the students at the Claiborne Campus at their SGA representative.
My name is Logan Craft and I am currently a freshman majoring in business administration. After graduating from Walters State in 2018, I plan to eventually enter the University of Tennessee College of Law in hope of becoming a criminal defense attorney. I am also a member of the Sevier County Ambassadors and volunteer in several local, community organizations. It is my deepest wish that I become an effective voice of the student body. I feel so blessed and honored to be a part of the Student Government Association and encourage all students to seek me out with any questions or concern that they may have.
My name is Samantha Peacock, and I am the SGA Representative for the Greeneville Campus. I am currently majoring in Political Science and plan to continue my education at Middle Tennessee State University Fall 2017. I am the Vice President of Fellowship for Phi Theta Kappa. I love to read, write, and research. Outside of school, I love to hang out with my family and am usually at home making crafts or playing with our dogs. I want everyone to know that I am here for them whether they have an idea, concern or just need someone to talk to.
