Music In The Air At Walters State

Music is in the air at Walters State Community College as the Music and Theatre Department presents end-of-the-year concerts. All of these are free and open to the public. No reservations are needed.
 
Sevier County Campus
• The Sevier County Campus Choir will perform at 7 p.m. on April 22 at First Baptist Church in Sevierville. The choir is directed by Amber Williamson, associate professor of music. Dylan Lyle will be a featured soloist. 
• The Sevier County Campus Community Band will perform at 7 p.m. on April 25 in the Conner-Short Center on campus. A variety of music is planned. The band performs under the direction of Tom Lundberg, adjunct faculty member.
 
Morristown Campus
• The Morristown Campus Community Band concert will be at 4 p.m. on April 24 at Morristown-Hamblen East High School. The director is Brandon Tilley, an adjunct faculty member and the director of the Morristown East Band. Jacob Pitts will be the featured soloist on the trumpet. Pitts is director of bands at Meadowview Middle School in Morristown and East Ridge Middle School in Whitesburg.  
• The Morristown Campus Choral Concert will be 3 p.m. on April 24 at the First Presbyterian Church in Morristown. This concert features the Concert Choir, performing under the direction of adjunct faculty members Kathy May and Clay Oglesby, and the Sensations Chamber Choir, performing under the direction of Oglesby, Elissa Keck-Hodge, assistant professor of music, and Laura Ritter, head of the music department. Kathy Bowen and Matthew Mimes will be the pianists. 
• The Morristown Campus Jazz Band will perform at 7:30 p.m. on April 26 in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex. Mike Thomas, adjunct faculty member, is the band director.
