Class Formats

Walters State offers several course types that make obtaining a degree much easier. With in-person, online, and hybrid options, you can create the schedule that works best for you. In fact, many of our courses can be completed with minimal time required in a face-to-face classroom setting.

I take classes online with the exception of two hybrid courses. I've not often needed resources or services outside of the classroom; however, when I have asked questions to the cashier's office and bookstore, my questions were answered promptly. I have appreciated my advisor providing the phone option for advising appointments as this is so convenient for me as an adult learner, single mother of two, and full-time health care employee!

The Niswonger Campus

Student Resources

We strive to provide our students with the resources they need to achieve their goals. Our free student services like counseling and tutoring are designed to help you thrive while pursuing your education. Walters State is here to help you move your career and your life forward with a college experience that’s unique to you.

With a toddler at home, it has been difficult to do homework and really focus on studying away from school. The welcoming atmosphere on campus allows me to come any time after classes for tutoring or just peace and quiet to sit and do what I need to do. Walters State does a fantastic job letting every single student know that they are in fact willing and ready to help you succeed no matter what issues you’re facing. I have loved being able to go back to school here.
