Congratulations, New Paramedics!

Eleven Paramedics Graduate
Walters State recognized the 32nd graduating class of the Paramedic Program. Students
enter the program as advanced emergency medical technicians and spend a year in both
classroom and clinical training.
Dr. James Ratliff, a resident physician at the University of Kentucky and alumnus
of the paramedic program, encouraged graduates to never stop learning.
Amanda Young of Bulls Gap received the Clinical Excellence Award. Gary Dubuque of
Rogersville received the Academic Excellence Award. Seth Griffin of Parrottsville
was named Student of the Year. Raymond Higgins of Seymour received the Douglas Allen
Johnston Award of Excellence, named in honor of a student who lost his battle with
cancer while enrolled in the program.
Megan Bullington of the Hawkins County EMS received the preceptor Appreciation Award.

Cocke County: Ellen Blaker of Newport and Seth Griffin of Parrottsville.
Greene County: Andrew Robert of Chuckey and Drew Garrett Morrison of Midway.
Hamblen County: Jayme E. Wright of Morristown.
Hawkins County: Gary Dubuque of Rogersville and Amanda Young of Bulls Gap.
Knox County: Brandon Philip Timmerman of Kimberlin Heights.
Jefferson County: Alexander Dalton Jones of Dandridge.
Sevier County: Noah Allen Reid of Gatlinburg.
