Be Part of the Walters State Production of "Radium Girls"
August 15, 2025

Auditions for Fall Production Planned Aug. 27, Sept. 3
Walters State Community College will hold auditions for its fall production of “Radium
Girls” from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, and Wednesday, Sept. 3. Auditions will
be held in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the Morristown
Campus. Auditions are open to everyone.
Based on a true story, D.W. Gregory’s “Radium Girls” is set in the 1920s when radium
seemed to be a miracle cure. Watch factories painted luminous dials with new element,
unaware of its deadly effects. The resulting decline in the health of workers sparked
a landmark fight for workplace safety and justice.
Dr. Brock Fisher, vice president of academic affairs at Walters State, will be directing
the play. He holds a doctorate in theatre. With over 60 acting and direct credits
to his name, Fisher brings decades of experience to the stage. He was most recently
seen in Encore’s “Sweeney Todd” earlier in the summer.
Those auditioning will do a cold reading from the script. Several men and women are
needed for the play and more parts could be added. For more information, contact Fisher
at Brock.FisherFREEWS or 423-318-2336.
