“The Ends We Seek” moves between actual events in the 19th and 20th centuries, vividly
illustrating how major historical events, including the emancipation proclamation
and the civil rights movement, impacted the lives of ordinary people. The play features
sharp dialogue and captivating musical interludes.
A mother and son, in two different centuries, play out the average person’s struggle
with life in a dysfunctional society rife with racism. These scenes of life play out
against a backdrop of history.
