Broadcaster to Speak as Part of Women's History Celebration
Broadcaster Amber Lynn Carroll will speak at Walters State as part of the college’s
celebration of Women’s History Month. The event is at 1 p.m. March 19 in the Duggins
Foundation Room, located inside the Dr. Jack Campbell College Center on the Morristown
Campus.
Carroll is the cohost of “Living East Tennessee,” which airs weekdays on WATE, the
ABC affiliate in Knoxville. Carroll joined the show earlier this year. She is a native
of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, and a graduate of the University of Tennessee She is a former
Mrs. Tennessee.
Her career in broadcasting has taken her across the country. She covered collegiate
and professional sports in the southeast region for many outlets. She has also served
as news reporter and anchor. Prior to returning to East Tennessee, she was host and
producer for a medical show in California.
Carroll is the co-founder of “We Are Team Jake,” a nonprofit organization focused
on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. She is a certified life counselor
and looks to empower people from all walks of life.
