Juried Community Show in Catron Art Gallery
A juried show featuring artists from Walters State's service area continues through March 27.

Exhibit Will End with Juror's Talk, Reception

Walters State’s Catron Art Gallery is hosting a juried exhibit of community art works through March 27. The gallery is located inside the R. Jack Fishman Library on the Morristown Campus.
The work was chosen from submissions following a “call for art” for the college’s service area. The exhibit will end with a juror’s talk and reception featuring juror Heather Wetzell at 2:30 p.m. on March 27. The public is invited.
A practicing artist, Wetzell is galleries and collections manager at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg. She manages the exhibition schedule for four rotating galleries as well as a permanent collection with over 1,000 works in a variety of media. Wetzell holds a master of arts and humanities from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania, and a master of fine arts in visual studies from the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York. She has completed the University of Iowa’s Center for the Book Graduate Certificate in book arts technologies. Her work has been widely exhibited and can be found at the Anzenberger Gallery in Vienna, Austria and the Momentum Gallery in Asheville, North Carolina. Wetzell will also announce art works receiving awards.
The exhibit was organized by Amy Evans, professor of art and head of the art department, and Jessie Van der Laan, associate professor of art and assistant dean of the Division of Humanities.
