Dr. Lisa Eccles
Eccles Recognized for PTK Advisor Excellence
A Walters State professor has received a national award from Phi Theta Kappa, the
international honor society for community colleges.
Dr. Lisa Eccles, professor of biology, received the PTK Continued Excellence Advisor
Award. This award specifically acknowledges advisors for their ongoing commitment
to leadership, enthusiasm, and the growth of chapter members. To be eligible, advisors
must have served a minimum of four years as an advisor and previously received the
Distinguished Advisor Award. Eccles received that award in 2018.
Eccles joined the faculty of Walters State in 2006. She has served as PTK advisor
for 15 years.
