Congratulations to Our Academic All Stars!

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the international honor society for community college students, inducted 84 Walters State students as new members during a ceremony held this month. To be eligible for membership, students must have completed 12 hours of college credit with a minimum grade point average of 3.5. Dr. Lisa Eccles, professor of biology, is the advisor to Walters State’s PTK chapter.

Honored students are listed by county of residence. 

Claiborne County: Sara Stamper and Makayla Turner, both of Harrogate; Autumn Colvin, Isaac Jennings and Allie Jones, all of New Tazewell; Jayden Brooks, Jacob Claggett, and Madeline Surber, all of Speedwell; Garrett Carroll and Makayla Miracle, both of Tazewell.

Cocke County: Lofton  Ford of Cosby; Ayla Cole, Emily Griffin, Nathaniel Murphy and Kyle Wright, all of Newport; Adisen McNealy and Isabella Neely, both of Parrottsville.
