Ag Club Ranch Rodeo Returning Feb. 21

February 13, 2026

Ranch Rodeo Provides Fast Action and Family Fun
Walters State agriculture students will host the Invitational Ranch Rodeo on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine. While students routinely care for livestock as part of their classwork, they don’t routinely handle the wilder ones that will be featured in the rodeo.

Enjoy Night of Family Fun, Fast-Paced Action

Get ready for heart-pounding, family-friendly action as the Walters State Ag Club Invitational Ranch Rodeo storms back into the Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine on Saturday, February 21. The fun begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15, $5 for students 7-17, and children six and under are free.

Teams of professional cowboys and cowgirls will compete in rodeo events, including team roping, cow doctoring, barrel racing, wild cow milking, and a cowhide race.

Future rodeo stars can get in on the action with a stick horse race for ages 2-4 and a calf ribbon chase for ages 5-10. Everyone can join the egg toss. These events have a small charge.

The Ranch Rodeo is part of the Walters State Ag Club Winter Horse Series, which is part of an event management class for the college’s agriculture students. Students gain valuable experience and have the chance to meet and work with agriculture businesses and leaders throughout the region. Over $200,000 in scholarship funds have been raised since the series began.
