Enjoy Lunch at the Maples Institute

Annual Seafood Festival is on April 30.
Walters State’s Maples Institute for Culinary Arts is inviting the public to two luncheons
and a meat sale this semester. These events are created by student chefs and butchers
under the guidance of faculty members, and held in the Mountain Rose Dining Room,
located in the Conner-Short Center (CAPE) on the Sevier County Campus.
On April 27, Culinary II students will host a luncheon featuring bistro fillet of
beef with mushroom sauce. Lunch is served at 11 a.m., and the cost is $18.22 plus
tax. Reservations open at 8 a.m. on April 15.
The institute’s annual seafood festival will feature shrimp cocktails and fish tacos. This event is at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 30. The cost is $24.60 plus tax. Reservations open at 8 a.m. on April 22.

The meat sale will feature top sirloin and will be held from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. or until all meat is sold.
The Maples Institute was the first culinary program in Tennessee to be accredited by the American Culinary Federation Education and Foundation Accrediting Commission. The college offers an associate of science in business with a concentration in culinary arts and technical certificates focused on bakery/pastry and hot foods.
