Gift Celebrates Doctors Day
Tennova Healthcare has donated a $1,000 gift to the Walters State Nursing Program in honor of Doctors Day. Doctors Day Marks Dedication and Skill of Physicians

To celebrate National Doctors Day and honor the doctors of its network, Tennova Jefferson Memorial Hospital donated $1,000 to the nursing program at Walters State Community College.

“We are grateful for the valuable support of Tennova Healthcare,” said Dr. Saul Reyes, president of Walters State. “In addition to this financial support, Tennova is a valued clinical partner for our healthcare program students.”

National Doctors Day reminds the world of the dedication, skill and unwavering commitment of physicians. The observance began in 1993. It continues to offer an opportunity for healthcare institutions and the public to express their gratitude to the doctors serving in their community.

The Walters State Nursing Program is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The first class of 59 enrolled in 1975. Over 5,000 nurses have graduated from the program. Students may complete the nursing program on campuses in Greeneville, Morristown and Sevierville.
