2020 Campus Police Annual Safety Report: Crime Statistics and Fire Safety
Campus Police and Safety Information
Building Emergency Action Plans
The Walters State Community College campuses are a great place to learn and grow. But a college campus, like any other community has its share of crime.
Crime is everyone's concern. Learning to work together can lower crime rate, reduce fear and help build a safer and more comfortable environment throughout our campus. The right attitude and actions can help protect you, your belongings, other students and your campus.
The goal of the Campus Police Department is to effectively provide police services to the institution, its faculty, staff, students and visitors to each campus. The Campus Police Department is responsible for maintaining security and policing of all Walters State buildings and properties, enforcement of campus rules and regulations as set forth by the Tennessee Board of Regents, and enforcement of state and local laws as governed by the State of Tennessee. It is the intent of the department to provide quality police services by maintaining the highest ideals of honesty, integrity and sound judgment while recognizing both the duty to protect and serve.
If you have knowledge of, wish to report, or have information concerning a crime occurring or which has occurred on campus please use our on-line CRIME WATCH REPORT form. It is not required that you identify yourself however, you do have this option if you wish. Campus Police Investigators will determine the validity of the report and take appropriate action.
All campus police personnel are state certified law enforcement officers in the state of Tennessee through the Peace Officer's Standards and Training Commission and have full arrest and investigative powers on all Walters State properties.
