The purpose of the Teaching and Technologies Fellows program is to encourage faculty to explore methods of engaging students and encouraging active student involvement using new educational teaching pedagogies and emerging technologies, including, but not limited to mobile devices, and to share their methods with others. The proposals are evaluated using the Criteria for Analysis for Proposals by members of the Academic Mobile Learning Subcommittee.
Teaching and Technology are constantly evolving and with it the opportunities to develop
more exciting ways to engage students. The WSCC Teaching and Technologies Program
will provide incentives and rewards to faculty who use these technologies to develop
creative ways to increase student learning and engage students. Faculty who are interested
in using emerging teaching pedagogies and new technologies to engage students are
encouraged to apply to the Teaching and Technologies Fellows Program. Some examples
include, but are not limited to, revising courses to leverage UDL principles, utilizing
technology to increase engagement, incorporating Growth Mindset or other High Impact
Practices into courses, and even exploring new course delivery methods.
The Teaching and Technologies Subcommittee is currently not accepting applications.
Teaching and Technologies Fellows should document the classroom activities and learning
with pictures and videos that are examples of the pilot project. A good standard
practice is to have all students in classes who will utilize the pilot project complete
the WSCC Talent Release Form. Administer to students and send signed forms to Vickie Mills, Instructional Design Department.
