Free Training Available For Greene County CNAs
October 27, 2022
Certified nursing assistants (CNAs) working in long-term care facilities in Greene
County can receive free online dementia-care training through Walters State’s Division
of Workforce Training.
The CARES Dementia Training class teaches CNAs how to make a connection with a patient,
minimize falls, recognize pain, and key responses to dementia-related behavior.
The class runs Nov. 2-Feb. 1 and has 12 sessions for a total of 12 hours. Successful
completion of this class leads to the CARES Dementia Specialist (CDS) certification.
A grant from the Tennessee Department of Health is funding this class, which is usually
priced at $600.
