Noncredit Classes Offer Valuable, In-Demand Job Skills
Walters State Community College will offer noncredit classes the popular Certified Supervisor Course and Excel Level 1 during January. Parenting and Divorce, Jan. 7 or Jan. 21, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $60.
This state-mandated course for divorcing parents outlines the importance of co-parenting
children. This class will improve communication skills and make the transition as
easy as possible and less traumatic for all family members, especially children. Those
attending the course will receive a certificate of completion which can be submitted
to your attorney or judge. The course is offered through the ZOOM videoconferencing
software.
On Campus
Microsoft Excel Level 1, Jan. 14, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Offered at the Morristown Campus,
Niswonger Campus and Newport Center, $150.
Gain a solid foundation in this popular Microsoft Office product. This class covers
creating, saving and printing documents. Students will learn how to create formulas,
enter functions, copy and paste, work with page layout features and handy shortcuts.
The class will also look at major difference between Microsoft Excel 2016 and previous
editions.
Niswonger Campus: Certified Supervisor, Tuesdays, Jan. 14-April 8, 1-5 p.m., $1,500.
Morristown Campus: Certified Supervisor, Thursdays, Jan. 16-April 10, 1-5 p.m., $1,500.
This comprehensive course covers all aspects of supervision with special attention paid to those covered by the Certified Supervisor exam: planning and setting objectives; problem solving and ethical decision making; managing groups and teams; staffing, training and assessing performance; customer service and communications. Students who complete this class will be prepared to take the Certified Supervisor test.
