Welding Level 2 Focuses on MIG Processes

Welding Level 2 (MIG Welding) will be offered at the new welding classroom inside the Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine, Oct. 7 through Nov. 4. This noncredit course is offered by the Division of Workforce Training.

This class introduces students to the materials and skills related to Gas Metal Arc Welding, commonly referred to as MIG Welding. This process is used extensively in industry. A hands-on teaching method is used that places an emphasis on safety. Basic concepts of spray welding are covered along with basic welding equipment setup, selection of joints, and weld position, and out-of-position welds. Students will also learn about process variables. This is a self-paced class.
