Lighting to Enhance Expo Center Events

First Horizon Bank (NYSE: FHN or “First Horizon”), a regional leader in both commercial and personal banking, has pledged support to the Walters State Foundation. The foundation will use these funds to install a new LED display board at the Walters State Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine.

“We are grateful to our friends at First Horizon Bank for their partnership and dedication to the community,” said Dr. Saul Reyes, president of the college. “The Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center hosts over 60 events each year, ranging from rodeos to job fairs and many area commencement ceremonies. Virtually all events will use the LED light system, which will provide benefits like visual timing and announcements in real time.”

“Strong communities are built on opportunity, and that starts with education. By partnering with Walters State Community College, we’re helping create pathways for students to gain the skills they need while also supporting the workforce needs of local businesses. It’s an investment in people and the long-term strength of our community,” stated Justin Cook, Morristown Market President for First Horizon.

The Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center is located in White Pine and attracts 60,000 visitors each year. In addition to a 98,000 square-foot pavilion with seating for 3,900, the Expo Center features the Ray and Barbara Bible Equestrian Center, comprising four horse barns (100 stalls each), a covered warm-up ring that connects to the pavilion, and an outdoor ring. It also includes a campground with 32 parking spaces.
