Dancers Perform at 6 p.m. Nov 2

Native American dancers will share their heritage through this beautiful art form at  6 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 2, in the Lyceum of the Dr. Wade B. McCamey Student Services Building on the Morristown Campus. Flutists and drummers will accompany individuals and teams of dancers.

Native American dancing is a living form of storytelling, with music and dancing dating back thousands of years. While dances are deeply rooted in tradition, individual dancers bring spontaneity and personal expression. The rhythm of the drum represents the heartbeat of Mother Earth, and the common circle movements symbolize the eternal cycle of life. Dancers wear carefully crafted regalia, featuring feathers, ribbons and beadwork representing family, achievements and tribal identity.

The public is invited, and admission is free.
