Walters State Honors All-Star Students

Outstanding Students Recognized at Banquet
Karina Mesa Ramirez, a pre-imaging science major from Sevierville, received the President’s
Outstanding Student Award during the college’s Honors Banquet. This is the highest
honor given to a Walters State student.
Ramirez also received the biology award and was honored as a Sevier County Campus
Outstanding Student. She served as an Earl Rowe Scholar, tutoring other students in
natural science subjects. She was also named to the All-Tennessee Academic Team and
was named a Coca-Cola Global Leader of Promise. She plans to continue her studies
in radiologic studies at East Tennessee State University.
Kolton Goins of Lafollette was named the Claiborne County Campus Outstanding Student.
Taylor Talley of White Pine was named the Morristown Campus Outstanding Student. Ramirez
and Michael O. Campadonico of Knoxville were named Outstanding Sevier County Campus
Students. Kirston Landers-Osborn of Greeneville was named the Niswonger Campus Outstanding
Student. Kassidy Cates of Cosby was named the Newport Center Outstanding Student.
Faculty Senate Scholarships were awarded to Jayden Byrd of Sevierville, Leslie Stiles
of Jefferson City and Emma Worley of New Tazewell.
