At Walters State, we value the academic accomplishments of students from our area. Through the Walters State Promise Scholarship Program, we are guaranteeing scholarships to students who meet certain academic requirements. Like the Tennessee Promise, the purpose of the Walters State Promise is to help students achieve their educational goals. It funds costs, such as textbooks and travel expenses, not covered by the Tennessee Promise or other financial aid.

Minimum 3.7 unweighted high school GPA and 24 national or state ACT score must be achieved prior to fall semester starting date
Beginning with the class of 2015, awarded to graduating seniors who meet above academic requirements
Must maintain full-time enrollment at least 12 credit hours
Awardable for maximum of first four continuously enrolled semesters excluding summer
Must maintain an overall institutional 2.75 college GPA
75 hour per semester institutional work requirement

Supplemental award to former dual enrollment students who meet Senators Scholars requirements and have at least 12 institutional earned hours of college credit with a 3.0 college GPA
Awardable for four continuous semesters as long as Senators Scholars eligibility is maintained

Awarded to graduating seniors who have earned at least 12 institutional hours of college credit with 3.0 college GPA as a Walters State dual enrollment student beginning fall 2015
Must be enrolled full-time at least 12 credit hours
Awardable for maximum of four continuous semesters excluding summer
Must maintain an overall institutional 2.75 college GPA
75 hour per semester institutional work requirement
