Auditions for "I Ought to Be in Pictures" Sept. 23, 24

The Walters State Department of Music and Theatre will hold auditions for the fall production of Neil Simon’s “I Ought to Be in Pictures” on Sept. 23 and 24 beginning at 7 p.m. Both sessions will be in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the Morristown Campus. 

Community members are encouraged to audition. You do not have to be a student to be cast. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script Rehearsals for the play will begin Sept. 30 with performances scheduled for Nov. 8-10 and 15-17.

“I Ought to Be in Pictures” debuted on Broadway in 1980. The movie based on the play was released in 1982. The featured character, Libby, makes a cross country to move to find her father and become a successful actress. As the story progresses, Libby realizes that she may never be an actress, but getting to know her father was worth the trip.
