Spring Concerts Fill This Week's Calendar
Celebrate spring with the Division of Humanities concert series. These free events are open to everyone.
The Walters State Community College Division of Humanities plans to celebrate spring with several musical events. The public is invited, and no admission is charged.
Sevier County
- The Walters State Sevier County Campus Spring Choir Concert will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 at First Baptist Church in Sevierville. Laura Weathersby, instructor of music, will direct the choir. Mandy Rogers Askins will be the accompanist.
- The Sevierville Community Band Concert featuring the Concert Choir will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in the Conner-Short Center on the Sevier County Campus. Tom Lundberg is the band director.
Morristown
- The Walters State Morristown Spring Choral Concert will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at First United Methodist Church in Morristown. This concert features the Walters State Concert Choir, the Chamber Choir and the Men’s and Women’s Ensembles. Special guest performers are members of the Morristown East High School Advanced Choir. Dr. Elissa Hodge, director of the Music and Theatre Department, and Clay Ogelsby, director of choral music, and Coleman Lowary, director of the Morristown Each High School choir, will direct. Kathy Bowen and Matthew Mimbs will be collaborative pianists.
- The Walters State Morristown Community Band will present its spring concert at 4 p.m. on April 28 at Morristown East High School.
- The Walters State Community Jazz Band, directed by Michael Thomas, will hold its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, in the Lyceum of the Dr. Wade B. McCamey Student Services Building.
