CNA Information Day Planned for Sneedville

Hancock County CNA Session Sept. 18
A certified nursing assistant information session is scheduled for Sept. 18 from 12:30-3
p.m. at the Hancock County Hospital. A class is planned by the Walters State Division
of Workforce Training in Hancock County beginning Oct. 20.
Rebeckah Ball, career services program director the Workforce Investment and Opportunity
Act (WIOA), will be at the session and will be able to determine if funding is available
for individual students. Phyllis Dossett, the director of clinical services for Hancock
County Hospital, teaches the course and will also be at the session.
The CNA course will meet from 5-10 p.m. Oct. 20-Jan. 23 at Hancock County High School.
The class prepares students to work as entry-level CNAs and includes training in routine
patient care, vital signs and assisting with meals or exercise. The program includes
class lecture, classroom laboratory skills and clinical sessions, which are supervised
patient care at a facility.
