Debate Team Ends Season with Individual, Team Awards
The Walters State Debate Team brought home individual and team awards in both
novice and parliamentary debate at the 2025 Buccaneer Bear Debate Tournament, held
at Northeast State Community College in Blountville.
Chris Cox of Morristown and Cayden Keltgen of Talbott placed second in varsity
parliamentary debate as a team and took fifth and sixth place respectively in the
varsity speaker category.
Tatum Ailey of Sneedville placed fourth in varsity parliamentary debate individual
speaker awards.
Stone Parker of Bean Station and Taylor Talley of Morristown earned third place
in the novice parliamentary debate as a team. Parker placed third and Talley placed
sixth in the novice individual speaker category.
This tournament concludes the Debate Team’s 2024-25 season. Students are coached
by Belle Elliott, instructor of speech.
