KAPPA BETA DELTA is a national honor society which was established in 1997 at the annual conference of the ACBSP to recognize students only in accredited associate degree-granting institutions for their high academic achievement in business programs.
A Kappa Beta Delta chapter is one of the benefits of ACBSP accreditation and provides a means by which an institution may give lifetime national recognition to its outstanding graduates.
Students are eligible to be invited to lifetime membership based upon the following criteria:
This newly established honor society provides several benefits as follows:
The principles of Kappa Beta Delta are represented by three Greek words, the initials of which form the name of the society: KAPPA BETA DELTA.
Kappa is the initial letter of the word, Kratisteuo, which means to excel. Kappa Beta Delta members have proven their excellence through their studies and other personal traits. The excellent person realizes that excellence is not a quality to be occasionally employed, but is an attribute reflecting a lifetime of action.
Beta is the initial letter of the word, Bebaous, which means trustworthy. Kappa Beta Delta members strive to be trustworthy for they realize that their word and reputation are priceless treasures not to be lost through unwise actions or statements.
Delta is the initial letter of the word, Dokimos, which means genuine and esteemed. Kappa Beta Delta members are genuine and are to be held in high esteem for both their accomplishments as well as their trustworthiness.
This Honor Society was established to encourage and recognize scholarship and accomplishment among students of business, management, administration, and other business programs who are pursuing associate degrees in ACBSP-accredited two-year colleges, to encourage and promote personal and professional improvement, and a life distinguished by honorable service to humankind.
