Four Walters State Writers Honored By PTK

Four Walters State Community College students were honored for their writing skills
by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community college students.
“Tennessee Mosaic,” a literary anthology, will include the work Donna Mosley of Sevierville,
Brandi Patrick and Shyanne Simpkins of Morristown and Tanner Keck of Bean Station.
Patrick received first place in creative nonfiction for "Window." Keck received first
place in research for "The Price of Power." Mosley received first place in poetry
for "The Ballad of Pattie Bird" and second place in short fiction for "Envelopes."
Simpkins received third place in poetry for "Girl Under Glass."
“Tennessee Mosaic” is published annually by the PTK chapters in Tennessee. Dr. Marc
Aramini, instructor of English at Walters State, is the editor.
