Noncredit classes offered by Walters State Community College in October include parenting
and divorce online, ServSafe and the OSHA trainer course.

CLASSES OFFERED ON ZOOM
• Parenting and Divorce, Oct. 11 or Oct. 26, 5:30-9:30 p.m., $60.
This meets the court requirement for parents divorcing in Tennessee. Learn how to
coparent through better communications. Tools learned in this workshop will make the
divorce process less traumatic for all, especially children. Participants receive
a certificate of completion.
ZOOM/MULTIPLE CAMPUSES
• Microsoft Excel Level 2, Oct. 12, 9-4 p.m., $150.
This course builds on the skills and concepts taught in Excel 2016: Level 1. Students
will learn how to use multiple worksheets and workbooks efficiently. The class also
covers advanced functions, formulas, data ranges, and analyzing data.
Greene County, Niswonger Campus
• OSHA #501, Trainer Course in OSHA Standard for General Industray, Oct. 17-20, 8-5
p.m., $800.
During this course, students will develop a presentation and teach an assigned OSHA
General Industry topic. Students must also pass a written exam. Participants will
be provided with a variety of training materials and resources. Students who complete
this course may become OSHA-authorized trainers in the agency’s outreach training
program. Authorized trainers can conduct both 10-hour and 30-hour general industry
classes. These classes teach the recognition, avoidance, abatement, prevention of
safety and health hazards in workplaces, workers’ rights, employer responsibilities,
and how to file a workplace safety complaint. OSHA-authorized trainers are able to
issue 10 and 30-hour course completion cards to participants.
Sevier County
• ServSafe Sanitation and Safety, Oct. 12, 8-6 p.m., Northview Academy, $129. Offered
on the Niswonger and Morristown campuses with Zoom capability.
The class builds on the skills learned in Microsoft Excel Level 1. Students learn

This course is based on the National Restaurant Association ServSafe Program. This
class covers the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point System and covers sanitation
and safety for all areas of food establishment. Students also learn how to community
this important knowledge to others.
