Walters State Community College will offer the Motorcycle Rider Education Class. The course is the state-certified licensing course for motorcycle riders. A certificate of completion exempts those who complete course from the written and riding test when applying for a motorcycle license.

            •Nov. 9-10
            •Nov. 23-24
            •Dec. 7-8.

This class includes five hours of classroom learning and ten hours of practical riding instruction in a controlled, off-street environment. An online course will be taken before the actual class begins. Course materials are provided, including the Tennessee Motorcycle Handbook and a student workbook. Training motorcycles will be used. Students must bring eye protection, a DOT-approved helmet; gloves that completely cover the fingers and palms; long pants; low-heeled, over-the-ankle leather footwear; and rain gear.
Instructors are certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation. Class size is limited to 12. Students must pass both a written and a driving evaluation at the completion of the course. The cost is $300.
