Honor Society Welcomes 95 New Members

Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community college students, welcomed 95 Walters State students during its fall initiation ceremony. Members are required to have a 3.5 grade point average after completing at least 12 hours of college credit. 

Dr. Lisa Eccles, professor of biology, is the chapter advisor. Officers were also presented for this academic year. Jocelyn Betancourt of Morristown serves as vice president of leadership. Madison Bosworth of Morristown services as vice president of public relations. Hailey Lawson of Whitesburg serves as vice president of scholarship. Gerardo Castillo-Ruiz of Greeneville serves as vice president of service. Karina Laureano Ruiz serves as vice president of fellowship. Taylor Bird of Sevierville was recognized the Tennessee regional secretary.
