Baxley Receives Teaching Excellence Award

ACBSP Recognizes Assistant Professor of Management
Dr. Olivia Baxley, assistant professor of management at Walters State, has received
the 2025 ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. The award is given by the Accreditation
Council for Business Schools and Programs.
This award is given to educators who demonstrate outstanding teaching ability.
As a regional recipient, Baxley is automatically nominated for the international award.
“Dr. Baxley’s dedication to her students and to Walters State are exemplary,”
said Dr. Amy Ross, professor and department head of the management program at the
college.
“Dr. Baxley has developed improvement processes for the division in addition
to serving on college-wide committees. It is truly an honor to work with her,” Ross
said.
Baxley joined Walters State in 2019. She is an alumna of the college, earning
her associate’s degree in 2015. She holds bachelor’s and a master’s degree from King
University and a doctorate from East Tennessee State University.
