The Mildred Haun Conference: A Celebration of Appalachian Literature, Scholarship, and Culture explores and defines Appalachian literature and culture for Appalachians and non-Appalachians. We are seeking individual and group presentations or demonstrations based on the theme, “Cookin’ Up the Good Stuff: Poetry, Music, Stories, and More”. We want to bring a renewed focus to Appalachian food preparation and foraging methods this year. The Call for Papers is open to faculty members, independent scholars, and community members, as well as graduate and undergraduate students who have an interest in any aspect of Appalachian literature, culture and scholarship.
