The Mildred Haun Conference: A Celebration of Appalachian Literature, Scholarship, and Culture is an attempt to explore and define Appalachian literature and culture for ourselves and for the outside world. We are seeking individual and panel presentations from faculty members, independent scholars, and students who have an interest in all aspects of Appalachian literature and culture.

We are seeking individual and panel presentations from any and all the following affiliations and purposes: faculty members, independent scholars, and community members, as well as graduate and undergraduate students who have an interest in any aspect of Appalachian literature, culture and scholarship.

We are pleased to invite you to submit to our e-journal entitled The Mildred Haun Review: A Journal of Appalachian Art, Culture, and Scholarship. This journal emphasizes creative and academic writing that explores, celebrates, narrates, analyzes, redefines, and deconstructs what it means to be Appalachian through metaphor, image, experience, and research.
