One Application Could Open the Door to a Walters State Scholarship
September 16, 2026
If you’re a Walters State student, there’s one application worth putting on your to-do list now.
The WSCC Scholarship Application is open, giving students an opportunity to be considered for a range of scholarships available through Walters State.
And the key word is one.
Complete the WSCC Scholarship Application, and the college uses information to help determine scholarships for which you may be eligible.
Foundation scholarships are awarded based on many factors, such as area of study, county of residence, academic achievement and financial need. Others are available in areas such as athletics, debate and music.
Apply early
The application period runs through Feb. 1, and late applications will not be accepted. All students are encouraged to apply.
Don’t wait until the last minute.
Once the application period closes, Walters State reviews completed applications and uses the information students provide to help match them with scholarship opportunities for which they may be eligible.
During fiscal year 2026 alone, the Walters State Foundation awarded $667,043 in scholarships to 591 students. Five new named scholarships were also established during the year.
Those scholarships are part of a much larger effort to make college affordable. Walters State students received more than $24 million in financial aid last year, including federal, state and institutional aid.
“Cost is one of the first questions many students and families have, and we never want someone to decide college isn't possible without first talking with us,” said Dr. Angi Smith, vice president for student affairs. “There are resources available, and our team is here to help students understand their options and take the next step.”
Take the next step
If you haven’t completed the WSCC Scholarship Application, don’t assume you won’t qualify.
